Losing Weight and Dieting - Do Not Exercise If You Want To Lose Weight And Keep It Off

The last thing you want to do when you first start your diet is to do any type of exercise. Yes, you read that correctly - DO NOT EXERCISE! There are many reasons for this. The truth is that you will lose more weight and keep it off if you do not exercise for the first several weeks of your diet. Here are some reasons why this is true.

  • What you eat will be more important during the first month of your diet than how much you move your body. Focus on eating the foods that you have chosen to help you lose weight.
  • When you stop eating all of the foods that made you gain weight in the first place, your body will go into shock. You do not want to increase this burden on your body by adding exercise, even if it is just walking briskly. This could cause all kinds of problems for you.
  • Your body is more likely to go into starvation mode if, all of a sudden, you start eating much less AND start exercising every day. Once you go into starvation mode, you will not be able to lose weight no matter how little you eat.

Instead, wait until you have lost at least 20 percent of the weight you want to lose. For example, if you want and need to lose forty pounds, wait until you have lost 8 pounds to begin any type of exercising.

When you have lost this initial twenty percent, begin exercising for just ten to fifteen minutes each day. This will now help you to achieve your weight loss goals in a shorter period of time, and to keep this weight off for good.

And now I invite you to learn more about losing weight quickly by visiting http://www.FivePoundsAtATime.com to see how I lost forty pounds very quickly and have kept it off for almost three years now.
